Today is
question day:
Most collectors have a year they
hate collecting for their PC, what year bothers you?
Mine is
2011 for Ryan Bader. There are 128 individual cards over 3 sets, of which 61
are #1/1 cards/printing plates. For comparison, Bader only has 334 total cards
so the 128 from 2011 are over 1/3 of all his cards.
That just means there are only 67 cards worth putting on your list!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if I hate it, but..Brett Favre had a kajillion cards in 2007 thanks to Topps' Flight to 420 inserts. There's a card for every career TD - in Topps and Chrome - plus the dozens of parallels for each card.
ReplyDeleteI don't hate any cards. For some reason though the designs of the 2000-01 NBA season I find rather boring and bland.
ReplyDeleteI do, however, hate SCANNING mirror foils and Finests.
I have 2 primary collections - complete sets (which is fine the way it is) and the team I grew up 7 miles from - the Phillies. When I look, year by year, as to how many cards are available for the Phillies, 2005 has almost 9,600 Phillies cards. About 9% of ALL the Phillies card ever made - in one year. (By way of comparison, if you add the cards in 2004 and 2006, it's about the same as 2005!)
ReplyDeleteHmmm.... tough question. Not sure if there's a particular year of cards I don't enjoy collecting. I mean... I hate myself a little for getting out of the hobby before I had the chance to grab some Ichiro and Pujols rookie cards. And I hate the fact that I have to pay top $$$ for their rookie cards these days. But I still enjoy collecting them. I'm gonna need to sleep on this question.
ReplyDeleteI hate buying 1996 football cards. Some of the cards I want are still listed as Browns, the rest as Ravens. Bad memories of no team to cheer for.
