King Felix Earns His Crown

I am really having difficulty keeping my commentaries limited, I just felt like this was worthy of breaking that vow I made not long ago.

Felix Hernandez throws perfect game, overpowers Rays

Felix Hernandez throws a gem in the Mariners-Rays game in Seattle today, 27 hitters came to the plate for Tampa and 27 hitters walked with their head down right back to the dug out. On 113 pitches Hernandez struck out 12 and only fell behind in the count 3 times. There were a couple of close calls, Fuld's deep ball caught at the warning track and Longoria's line drive, but otherwise this game was in full control of King Felix.

This is the second no-hitter by the Mariners this year, the previous one was done by six Mariner pitchers against the Dodgers on June 8th. What is interesting is that out of the 6 no-hitters this year, three were at SafeCo Field, the two Mariners games and the Chicago White Sox game in April when White Sox pitcher Philip Humber threw a perfect game against the Mariners.
