Leaf is
leading out their 2013 release schedule with an all-autograph release, 2012
Leaf Legends of Sport. Each $140 box will include 3 autographed cards.
Leaf is saying
that there will be around 175 personalities included on the checklist and some
of the announced signers include Yogi Berra, Larry Bird, Ichiro, Mike Tyson and
Barry Sanders. There are 9 different autograph subsets:
Base
Autographs
AKA Autographs:
Athletes known by their nicknames
Numeration
Autographs: Cards limited to the athletes jersey number
Award Winners:
Athletes who have been honored
Dual
Signatures: Multi-signed cards
We Are The
Champions: Athletes who have won championships
Remembering
The Games: Athletes who have represented the U.S. at the Olympics
Perennial
All-Stars: Athletes who have been selected to multiple All-Star teams
Signature
Swatches: An auto-relic insert
The release
includes a solid checklist that ranges through a broad selection of athletes so
many people will find athletes who interest them, there is also the
multi-signed “Miracle on Ice” autograph card that includes the autographs from
16 members of the 1980 men’s Olympic hockey team.
On the down
side, since Leaf has no major licenses so the uniforms are all airbrushed. Another
big ding is that the autographs are all stickers, kind of a disappointment.
I frankly sick of all of the unlicensed %@$#%#$ that is being produced lately. If I want airbrushed uniforms I'll take a 1980's food insert card over any of this modern stuff.
ReplyDeleteTopps license is up soon hope MLB goes with multiple companies after that!
