Is It Time To Use The Word "Bust"?

Currently Robert Griffin III is living a nightmare, he is in his third year with the Redskins and while he hasn’t been as awful as JaMarcus Russell or Ryan Leaf he has been getting progressively worse. It doesn’t help that his coach has openly criticized him and rumor is that he has lost his teammates support in the locker room.

While RG3 is definitely not awful is a starting QB position still in his future (Redskins or other)? With Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston coming up in the 2015 NFL Draft you have to consider the unexpected from Redskins owner Dan Snyder. Could RG3 be packaged in a Draft Day trade to get a top draft pick?

While he definitely does not have the success of 2012 NFL Draftmates like Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson is it time to consider RG3 a bust?

Is it time to start selling your Robert Griffin III cards?

  1. If he goes to another team (and most likely he will) and he continues to struggle, then yes. As of right now though as tempting as it may be to slap that label on him, I'm not quite ready to.

    1. I feel the same way, it worked wonders for Drew Brees in his move to New Orleans. There are plenty of teams with high draft picks that need a QB.

  2. The time to sell your RGIII cards was a couple of years ago. Maybe on another team he will be able to find some success, but it seems like his injury history and the reputation hit he's taken as his team implodes this season will keep him from being much more than a middle-of-the-road starter or a backup. Maybe not a bust, but also not the franchise savior he was supposed to be.
