A Cavalcade Of Griffey Cards XIII

I do not like the number 13, I don’t have a fear of it and I am not superstitious of the number but I do have some issues with OCD and when I look at that number it seems unnatural so I prefer not to see it.

So to go with a number I do not like I am posting a card that I feel is the worst Griffey card available and that is saying a lot. The card is not from any specific set or year, it was a promotional card inserted in to packages of Card Guard card supplies. There are a couple of versions of the card with some showing Griffey standing up and another with a black and white photo. Why do I have the card if I do not like it? Easy, I am a Griffey collector therefore it needs to be in my collection.

A Cavalcade Of Griffey Cards XII

In the 1990s and early 2000s the Leaf/Donruss Studio cards were some of my favorites. Most of the designs revolved around a close up shot of the player. It was a standout from most other companies at the time that were using action shots so the Studio cards really stood out.

This card is from the 2004 Doruss Studio release, one of Donruss’ last releases before the company shuttered and was eventually bought out by Panini.

A Cavalcade Of Griffey Cards XI

Today’s Griffey card is a parallel from the 1991 Topps Baseball release, the Desert Shield stamped cards. This card is card #392, Griffey All-Star card. last year I picked up his other card from the set #790. If you are interested in the Desert Shield stamped cards I wrote a piece about the history of the cards with the post about card #790.

Now I have both of Griffey's cards from the set along with Jay Buhner's card

A Cavalcade Of Griffey Cards X

Today is a quadruple post, it marks my first week in my new home and life is slowly beginning to return back to normal but next week will be another week I am relatively unavailable so the Cavalcade Of Griffey Cards will continue until the end of June.

Today’s cards are from the 2016 Leaf Greatest Moments. I picked up the base silver chrome along with the Blue Chrome #/25, the Purple Chrome #/15 and the Pink Chrome #/10. There are three more cards in the rainbow that I am still on the look out for and they will soon make an appearance on my Most Wanted List, they are Black Chrome #/7, Green Chrome #/5 and Red Chrome #/3.
