And Suddenly There Is Only One In Denver

I guess we can say that the Broncos will definitely not be returning to the Super Bowl and possibly may not even make it in to the playoffs. Monday Payton Manning retired and today presumed starting QB Brock Osweiler signed a 4-year deal with the Texans leaving the Broncos with third stringer Trevor Siemian as the only quarterback on the roster.

With Cleveland, San Francisco and possibly the Rams all looking for their quarterbacks of the future the Broncos are suddenly in a position where they may be drafting the 3rd, 4th or 5th best QB in the draft (Lynch, Cook or Prescott). Other options include signing one of the FA quarterbacks, most likely Ryan Fitzpatrick, or trading for someone like Colin Kaepernick.

I am going to toss one more name in to the mix for possible QB for the Broncos, Nick Foles. The former University of Arizona product has had a mediocre career but ignore 2015 for the Rams, that was a bad fit, and 2014 for the Eagles under Chip Kelly’s total control failure but instead look at his 2013 numbers and you will see that he is competent. Put him behind the Broncos offensive line with a talented receiving corp and he could easily put up 3,500-4,000 yards and 30 TDs.

This is the kind of Championship implosion that has only been reserved for the Florida/Miami Marlins.
