Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and the deals and sales will be showing up everywhere. A quick question to
buyers;
Do you look forward to
box sales from the card companies, Blowout, Dave & Adams, etc.?
Or
Do you look forward to individual
card sales from eBay, COMC, etc.?
I don’t open boxes so I
look forward to the individual card sales and the specials from COMC, not to
mention their free shipping. They offer free promotions for sellers too over three days, I just set up my promotions for Black Friday.
I definitely look forward to COMC's sale - though it seems that they did away with the scratch tickets this year, which is half the reason I held my cards there all year.
ReplyDeleteBox sales aren't usually in my budget but I placed an order with Blowout Cards over the weekend and it arrived yesterday. Their shipping is so much faster than COMC, and their sales are set up better than Dave & Adam's IMO. I used to enjoy D & A's hourly specials, but it stressed me out too much.
I looked at COMC's blog last night and I didn't see anything about the scratchers as part of this year's promotion, that is a bummer. Last year I got a couple of free shipping offers but I know a couple of other bloggers that got some account credits.
DeleteLast year was the first year I used COMC's black Friday promotion. Free shipping and the discounts were worth it, but I doubt I'll take advantage this year.
ReplyDeleteI love following box sales on Blowout AND Dave & Adams, but I have never purchased anything during their Black Friday promotion. Man, do I like to window shop! My wife on the other hand, picked up a couple of discounted boxes for my birthday later this year. I'm a lucky guy!
There are some boxes that I would love to pick up but my budget is so slim it is easier to stick to singles. It seems like forever since I opened a hobby box of anything, it has to be at least 3 or 4 years.
DeleteI usually do get pretty excited, but this year I probably won't do too much trading card shopping for Black Friday. I may check out COMC a little. I've ordered a couple of art commissions as artists roll out their holiday sales. My only planned Black Friday shopping at the moment is a gift card from the local tattoo shop.
ReplyDeleteI added some credit to my COMC account hoping to find some great discounts. I was hoping they would do the scratchers again this year but it looks like they will not have them.
DeleteI would love to look forward to boxes but my budget doesn't allow it. I look forward to COMC's free shipping because I have hundreds of cards waiting since last November.
ReplyDeleteWhen I can manage it, I like both. The past two years I was able to get 3-4 boxes and a good amount of singles, but this year I only have enough for one or the other, and thanks in no small part to scoring a sketch card as the guaranteed hit out of a recent discount Star Wars blaster taking the pressure for a big pack pulled hit, singles won out.
ReplyDeleteI love both. I never save enough money throughout the year for them, though. It's not like I don't know they are coming along. At least with COMC I already qualify for free shipping as I have 120 cards in my cart already. The number will surely grow soon. Last year I didn't buy anything from the DA sale, the year before I got 6 or so boxes. Don't know what this year holds but I have less than $100 to split between the two, so probably not much.
ReplyDeleteNormally, I'd try to buy some boxes from either DA or Blowout and if there was a shipping special on COMC, I'd take advantage of that. This year... I probably will avoid buying any boxes. However I hope I can find 20 cards to buy on COMC, so I can take advantage of their free shipping.
