A one card
post today, but a cool one. I picked up this Gary Payton 2014-15 Panini National
Treasure Sneaker Swatches shoe card late last year. I’ve always thought that
shoe relics are some of the neater and more unique relics.
That is a very cool card! And I completely agree about the uniqueness of shoe cards, in fact if I can will myself to get back on the posting horse, I still have a couple of shoe cards to get to myself.
Neat! And it looks like it came from the top/sides, too. Most of the shoe cards I have seen for the NBA- including the three I've got- are rubber from the soles.
I recently got my first shoe relic card. They are pretty cool, and you don't see them nearly as often as you'd expect. I guess a shoe has less material than a jersey, bat, or pants.
Sweet card! I'm a big fan of The Glove. I have his #20 jersey hanging up in my classroom (it was a gift years ago from a student) and one of my students asked about it either yesterday or the day before. I explained how he was one of my favorite players back in the day... and how I even went out and bought a pair of his signatures shoes. Guess I need to target this card too.

ReplyDeleteFantastic card! I think I've only seen one other shoe card - and it was the Ken Griffey, Jr.
