All Hail The Miami Heat, The 2013 NBA Champions

We have now seen the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals three years in a row, winning the last two. Are we looking at a dynasty here?

You have to admit, with the core "Big 3" of LeBron, Wade and Bosh all signed through next season the team has a solid chance of returning to the Finals at least one more year. Mario Chalmers (team option buyout), Ray Allen (player option) and Chris Anderson's (unsigned) contracts will have to be worked out when free agency begins at the end of the month but otherwise things are good for Miami through 2014.

One thing that caught me strange though was the one kid sitting a couple rows up at the Spurs end of the court who was wearing a Golden State Warriors jersey. The kid stood out in a sea of white shirts in Miami. Who would pay to go to a Game 7 of the NBA Finals in Miami and wear a Warriors jersey?

Miami Heat Take The Title

First and foremost, the Heat came to play this year. Dwyane Wade played to his usual stellar self even playing through knee pain and a lower back injury. This guy is just plain class, he is a team-first player and deserves winning the title again. I think that by the end of his career he may just add a couple more rings to the two that he has now. LeBron James showed up this year, even with a couple of off nights he shut it down tonight with a Triple-Double. I know he must be feeling a huge relief from all the pressure the media has been laying on him over the past 9 seasons, especially considering his losses in the 2007 and 2011 NBA Finals. I am sure there are some who were beginning to wonder if he would ever win a title.

On the lighter side (read this as humorous) the Heat won, but I have the pleasure of seeing that ass clown Clay Bennett loosing the NBA Championship.

Miami Pulls A Stunner

All I can say is “Wow”; the team to beat has suddenly become Miami… if they can suit up enough players. Expect to see the new Heat players in their new uniforms when Panini’s 2010-11 NBA Prestige hits the shelves around the end of September.
