Today is
question day:
Have you ever ended a
player/team collection?
The only
collection that I don’t have an end point in mind would be my Griffey
collection. My other PC collections (Jay Buhner, Edgar Martinez, Steve Largent,
Allen Iverson, Gary Payton, Ryan Bader and Sue Bird) I have a list of wants and
when I complete those lists I am done with that collection baring any cool new releases.
There
have been a couple of athletes over the years that I stopped collecting, like Dan Majerle, Shaun Alexander and Keith Tkachuk. Not for any real reason, just lost interest.
I ended a couple PCs for different reasons. Some were because I lost interest or shifted priorities. But I sold/traded most of my Sammy Sosa PC when it became obvious he was using PEDs.
ReplyDeleteI've stopped a couple because I lost interest. I have a couple players I was thinking about adding, but now I'm hesitant knowing I could lose interest and end of wasting my time.
ReplyDeleteNo. I collect to document history. That includes everyone. I have not even excluded the murderers.
ReplyDeleteI collected James Shields a bit after he signed with San Diego, but then he sucked and got traded away, so now I don't collect him anymore.
ReplyDeleteTwo of the bigger ones that come to mind are both hockey players: Owen Nolan and Ryan Miller. Nolan was kind of a jerk... and I just lost interest in Miller over time.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever stopped collecting anyone haha
ReplyDeleteI stopped collecting Starling Marte after his half season suspension for PEDs.
ReplyDeleteRyan Dempster but mainly because he retired. Not sure if there have been any new cards since (other than an ESPN analyst issue.)
